WORLD BANK'S REPORT ON 'EASE OF DOING BUSINESS
Pakistan has improved its ranking in the Ease of Doing Business Index by jumping 28 places. It is now among the top 10 countries with the most improved business climate.
In the last one year, Pakistan has carried out six reforms that have helped it in improving its ranking in ease of doing business by jumping from 136th to 108th position among 190 countries.
These aforementioned six reforms address issues like starting a business, registering property, paying taxes, issuance of construction permits, obtaining electricity connection and trading across borders.
The Report applauds Pakistan over the "ambitious reform strategy."
When seen as a measure of absolute progress in best global practices in business regulations, Pakistan has improved its position from 61 to 52.8. This demonstrates that Pakistan has taken extraordinary steps for improving its position in the last one year.
Among the top 11 countries with a population above 100 million people, Pakistan has been ranked as the number one reformer in the world.
The World Bank's latest ranking demonstrates the Government of Pakistan's success in its efforts at reforming and improving the business climate of the country.
